The true story of hemp, as told by Rick Simpson, the man who cured cancer with hemp oil.
Researchers reported in the August 15, 2004 issue of Cancer Research, the journal of the American Association for Cancer Research, that marijuana's constituents inhibited the spread of brain cancer in human tumor biopsies.[vii] In a related development, a research team from the University of South Florida further noted that THC can also selectively inhibit the activation and replication of gamma herpes viruses. The viruses, which can lie dormant for years within white blood cells before becoming active and spreading to other cells, are thought to increase one's chances of developing cancers such as Kaposi's Sarcoma, Burkitt's lymphoma and Hodgkin's disease
According to Dr. Robert Ramer and Dr. Burkhard Hinz of the University of Rostock in Germany medical marijuana can be an effective treatment for cancer.[v] Their research was published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute Advance Access on December 25th of 2007 in a paper entitled Inhibition of Cancer Cell Invasion by Cannabinoids via Increased Expression of Tissue Inhibitor of Matrix Metalloproteinases-1.

DIM is the better choice to halt breast cancer
An anti-cancer compound found in broccoli and cabbage stops breast cancer by lowering the activity of an enzyme associated with rapidly advancing breast cancer, according to a recent study from the University of California, Berkley. That compound was indole-3-carbinol (I3C). Today, scientists have found that diindolylmethane (DIM), a molecule found in I3C, is the chemoprotective compound that gets the job done. According to them, DIM is the better choice for women wanting to halt breast cancer.
DIM remains active in the body, but I3C does not
Scientists at the Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey report that the recommendation for use of I3C as a weapon against cancer does not sufficiently consider the chemical instability of the I3C compound. They investigated whether I3C was directly active in its own right, or whether it only serves as a precursor, with all of the biological responses coming from some of the reaction products of I3C.
They found that in the body, I3C rapidly converts into DIM, and other molecules. When an oral dose of I3C is taken, very little circulating I3C is present to effect a biological response. Because DIM provides a predictable, safer response than the full range of compounds derived from I3C, DIM should be regarded as the better choice. This study is from the July-August edition of the journal In Vivo.
DIM stops breast cancer through hormone modulation
DIM regulates hormone balance and cell behavior through its ability to impact the actions of hormones. The growth promoting activity of unbalanced estrogen can be reduced by eating cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, or by taking DIM supplements. DIM is truly unique among all phytonutrients because it is the only one able to modify estrogen metabolism in the direction of greater 2-hydroxy estrogen production. Improper metabolism of estrogen allows for oxidation and damage to DNA. It also spurs the growth of estrogen sensitive cancers.
Incidence of breast cancer and other estrogen related cancers is low in societies that consume a diet high in total vegetable content. For those people, DIM is gotten by regularly eating broccoli, cabbage, kale, and other cruciferous vegetables.
When women in America have breast cancer and go to see their oncologists, they are never told about the link between eating cruciferous vegetables and halting the spread of cancer, because the Great American Cancer Machine refuses to acknowledge that such a link exists. They are also not told how easily they can halt the spread of their cancers by taking supplements of DIM. If women were told the truth, they could never be sold toxic treatments such as radiation and chemotherapy, and they would never agree to take such devastating drugs as Arimidex or Tamoxifen, because they would know that their own natural estrogen is not their enemy when it is properly balanced and metabolized.
The truth is that eating large amounts of cruciferous vegetables or regularly drinking their juices can prevent cancer and stop existing cancers in their tracks. Anyone who does not want to eat large amounts of these vegetables can achieve their effects by regularly taking DIM supplements. DIM supplements can drastically cut the chances of cancer recurrence.
Studies have shown that DIM increases the production of 2-hydroxy estrogen by 75% and decreases the production of 16-hydroxy estrone by 50%. This action creates the proper balance of estrogen to estrone so needed to halt cancer and prevent its recurrence.
Dr. John Lee will tell you what your own doctor won't
Many well established risk factors for breast cancer have been correlated with low 2-hydroxy estrogen production, such as obesity, high fat diets, and diets deficient in Omega-3 fatty acids. In his book What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Breast Cancer, Harvard Medical School Professor Dr. John Lee explains the estrogen metabolic cycle and the importance of the ratio between 2-hydroxy and 16-hydroxy estrogen in stopping and preventing breast cancer.
DIM is not a phytoestrogen
DIM does not mimic the action of any estrogen or phytoestrogen. It has no inherent estrogenic activity. DIM balances the natural response to estrogen by adjusting the activity of metabolic enzymes and specialized estrogen receptor molecules. In dividing cells, the growth promoting signal from estrogen is limited by the reduction of the activity level of the estrogen receptor system. DIM's ability to promote healthy metabolic pathways for estrogen limits cell division and growth through influence on the cell cycle which determines growth and replication.
DIM chokes off the blood supply from tumors
In order for a cancer to grow and thrive, it must have a steady blood supply. Cancers create their blood supply though a process known as angiogenesis. Researchers have shown that DIM is able to stop tumors from completing angiogenesis and creating their own blood supplies. Moreover, the level of oxygen in tumor cells was increased by the use of DIM. Oxygen is the mortal enemy of cancer. Cancer can only grow and thrive in cells that are suffocating from lack of oxygen. A study reported in the May, 2008 Biochemical Pharmacology Journal was the first to show that DIM can decrease the accumulation and activity of the key angiogenesis regulatory factor, HIF-1alpha, in hypoxic tumor cells.
DIM makes cancer cells commit suicide
Apoptosis is the appropriate death of cells. Without apoptosis, cancerous cells can continue to proliferate. In a study reported in the April 22, 2008 edition of Pharmaceutical Research, scientists found low doses of DIM induced production of a pro-apoptotic protein in prostate cancer cells. This protein, known as the prostate apoptosis reponse-4 (PAR-4), reduced cancer cell viability and caused cell growth inhibition and apoptosis.
DIM halts invasion and metastasis of cancer cells
The progression and metastasis of breast and other cancers is regulated by the interaction between a chemokine receptor and its ligand. Organs secrete a particular ligand which binds to the chemokine receptor on the surface of primary cancer cells. This process stimulates the invasive properties of the cancer cells and attracts them to the preferred organ sites, creating metastasis. Researchers found that DIM down-regulates both the ligand and the receptor in breast cancer cells as well as in ovarian cancer cells. In their study reported in the March 28, 2008 Cancer Letter, researchers demonstrated that the potential of cells for chemotaxis and invasion is inhibited by DIM.
DIM is effective against HER-2 cancers
When in vitro experiments were done with breast cancer cell lines, researchers found that DIM inhibited the growth of all four breast cancer cell lines. Because two of the lines over expressed Her-2 and lacked estrogen receptors, these were studied in depth. DIM induced expression of the tumor suppressor p27 genes before the loss of cell viability and apoptosis, and induced transcript expression within six hours. Researchers in this study concluded that the effects of DIM were independent of Her-2 or estrogen receptor status. This study was reported in the February, 2008 Molecular Cancer Therapeutics
DIM is a powerful anti-inflammatory
Recurrent and chronic inflammation has been implicated in the development of several kinds of cancers. As a result, researchers examined DIM's anti-inflammatory properties and mechanisms using stimulated macrophages. DIM was found to significantly decrease the release of nitric oxide, estradiol, tumor necrosis factor alpha, interleukin-6, and interleukin-1beta. They concluded that DIM inhibits the release of pro-inflammatory mediators in macrophages. This study can be found in the January, 2008 Journal of Nutrition.
DIM may be nature's Viagra
Estrogen is a growth promoting hormone in men as well as women. As men age, they begin to convert more of their testosterone into estrogen, placing themselves as risk of prostate cancer. DIM works the same wonder in men as it does in women, by blocking some of the conversion of testosterone into estrogen. When men are able to keep more of their testosterone, they are able to function sexually at a more youthful level. Erectile dysfunction is a symptom that testosterone is being converted to estrogen that can fuel the growth of prostate cancer. A man taking DIM may find his pot belly receding, and his morning erections returning, along with the return of more youthful energy levels.

Grapeseed Extract Kills 76% of Leukemia Cancer Cells
(NaturalNews) A new study conducted at the University of Kentucky in the United States, and published in the journal Clinical Cancer Research, found that leukemia cancer cells exposed to grapeseed extract (GSE) were rapidly killed through a process of cell suicide known as "apoptosis."
In these laboratory studies, an astonishing 76% of leukemia cells committed suicide within 24 hours thanks to the ability of GSE to activate a protein called JNK, which regulates apoptosis.
In a healthy person, cancer cell apoptosis is a normal, healthy part of biology. Every living system creates cancerous cells. There are hundreds or thousands of "microtumors" in every human being living today, but cancerous cells in healthy people destroy themselves once they realize they're flawed. This cellular "realization," however, requires healthy cell communication, and that's dependent on the correct nutrients, minerals and proteins being available in the body.
Grapeseed extract appears to accelerate this process in cancer cells, helping them more rapidly assess their own flawed state so they can engage in apoptosis (cell suicide), thus protecting the larger organism (the body).
It's important to note that this recent study was conducted in a lab, not in human beings, so its conclusions cannot necessarily be directly translated into saying something like "grapeseed extract cures cancer," for example. However, it does indicate quite convincingly that if the unique phytochemical molecules found in grapeseed extract can be delivered to leukemia cells with sufficient potency, they may play an important role in cancer cells destroying themselves, thereby protecting the whole organism from runaway cancer.
If the results demonstrated in the labs at the University of Kentucky can be replicated in humans, it could potentially position grapeseed extract as one of the most powerful natural chemotherapeutic agents yet discovered.
Grapeseed extract has been studied and demonstrated to be remarkably effective at killing cancer cells for many different types of cancer, by the way, including cancers of the breast, prostate, lung, skin bowel and stomach.
Eat more grapes?
The conventional cancer community, of course, is quick to warn people not to simply eat more grapes in the hopes that grapeseed extract will help prevent their cancer. But I ask, "Why not?" Unlike toxic chemotherapy, eating grapes has zero negative side effects. At the same time, grapes offer numerous other health benefits, since they are a source of resveratrol and various protective phytonutrients.
Of course, you have to eat grapes with seeds in them, and since the global food supply has become so distorted over the past few years, it's difficult to find grapes with seeds in them. My advice? Buy your grapes from a health food store: Look for organic, seeded grapes. And when you eat them, don't spit out the seeds (obviously). Chew them up, and you'll digest the grapeseed extract that's naturally present in those seeds.
I've talked with conspiracy theorists who believe the seeds were purposely taken out of the grapes in the national food supply for precisely this reason (to remove the anti-cancer nutrients from food, thus keeping people sick). I disagree with that explanation, however: Seedless grapes are simply a product of consumer demand, in much the same way that consumers prefer seedless watermelon. If consumers actually knew about the health benefits of grape seeds, they might think differently, but thanks to efforts by the FDA and USDA, the mainstream public has remained virtually illiterate on nutrition for several decades, and you'll rarely meet an individual who is aware that eating grape seeds is actually good for you.

How To Preventing from Breast Cancer
It’s that hoary old chestnut again—Prevention being better than cure you can concentrate on some aspects of avoiding getting breast cancer. How you can do this is by fixing and following some tips that will help you on your road to a healthier life.
Avoid or minimize your intake of alcohol as this has been established as the most risky factor for breast cancer. Several studies have shown that the risk of breast cancer increases by 20% to 25% with the consumption of more than one alcohol beverage a day.
Try and maintain a body mass index or BMI of less than 25 for all of your life. If you gain a lot of weight in your middle age, irrespective of the BMI, then it increases your chance of getting breast cancer. Also, studies have established that post menopausal breast cancer risk increases with an increase in BMI.
This cannot be said enough—increase your intake of fruits and vegetables as much as possible, eating seven or more servings in a day. Cauliflower, brussel sprouts, cabbage, and broccoli (eat these raw or cook them lightly as otherwise the phytochemicals in them get destroyed by heat and lower the protection they offer); your usual greens such as kale and spinach; carrots and tomatoes—all these help in protecting you from cancer. Berries, cherries and citrus fruits are also good for health and in the fight against breast cancer.
Make exercise part of your health routine throughout your life. If you do at least 30 to 45 minutes of exercise such as brisk walking or moderate aerobic activity at least 5 times a week you can ward off breast cancer. Be consistent in your exercise and the time you take rather than working out intensely but sporadically.
Watch the fats you eat. Sunflower, safflower, and corn oils are omega-6 fats, which should be avoided as well as trans fats and saturated fats. Increase omega-3 fats in your diet. These can be from oily fish such as salmon and tuna. Monounsaturated oils such as olive oil and avocados are healthy and you should increase your consumption of them as they have anticancer properties.
Carbs! Don’t eliminate them from your diet but do reduce your consumption of such carbs as white potatoes, white rice, white flour, and sugar. These products can set off hormonal changes that increase cellular growth in breast tissue. Instead, include beans or legumes (containing high fiber and lignan) and whole grains in your diet.
Supplement your diet with multivitamins such as vitamins C and E. Take selenium as prescribed by the doctor or as a substitute you can take a couple of Brazil nuts. Do consult your doctor before taking any supplements especially if you have a chronic medical condition or take prescription drugs.
Increase the intake of soy in your diet, including tofu, soy milk, miso, or roasted soy nuts. Make sure you are consuming organic, non-genetically modified soy. Studies have shown that increased soy consumption leads to a reduction in breast cancer.
Did you know that a constant lifetime contact with estrogen does play its part in the development of breast cancer? So avoid prescription estrogen unless advised by your doctor. Industrial chemicals and some pesticides are environmental pollutants that sometimes contain estrogen-like compounds so be careful in your exposure to them. Organic produce is best for use though they are expensive, in which case ensure that all nonorganic produce that you consume is first washed well.
Finally, but very important, make sure that your mental outlook is always positive. Get enough sleep, have a good social network, be brimful with positive self-nurturing thoughts. Your mental attitude is directly linked to the risk of cancer so you can make a good start here by avoiding negative elements in your life.
All in all these tips will help you to lead a healthier and less stressful life. These are also simple rules that will enrich your daily wellbeing.

565,650 Americans Expected to Die of Cancer
Did you know that today, every 5 Americans, there is one diagnosed with cancer? In 2008, there are about 565,650 Americans expected to die of cancer. Every day, 1500 people lives are taken by cancer. It is accounted for one of every four deaths. It is the second most common cause of death in the US, exceeded only by heart diseases, and if current trends continue and we don't do anything about it, it is expected to be the leading cause of death by the year 2010.
Peoples are waking up to this scary fact. More are becoming aware of what leads to cancer and are taking steps to prevent it from developing by making adjustment to their lifestyle. The other good news is that early detection, diagnosis and treatment have improved the odds dramatically. In 1995, over 50% of cancer patients survived five years or more after diagnosis and treatment. The American Cancer Society estimates that an additional 25-30% of all cancer deaths could be prevented with earlier diagnosis and treatment.
Cancer is identified by uncontrolled cell division and cell death caused by cumulative damage to important regulatory genes. Generally, multiple genes must be damaged for a cancer to grow and to develop the capacity to spread, also known as metastasis. Cancers that seem to run in families may be hereditary or may signify similar family environmental exposure to substances that cause cell damage such as polluted air, water, soil and to radiation. Cancer can occur in many areas of the body and behaves differently depending on its types and origin. Cancer is caused by both external factors (tobacco, chemicals, radiation and infectious organisms) and internal factors (inherited mutations, hormones, immune conditions, and mutations that occurs from metabolism). It often takes ten or more years from exposure to external factors and a detectable cancer.
Even chlorinated municipal water can cause cancer. Chlorine treated water contains chemical compounds called trihalomethanes, which are carcinogens (cancer causing agents) resulting from the combination of chlorine and organic compounds in water. These chemicals do not degrade very well and are generally stored in the fatty tissues of the body (the breasts, other fatty areas, mothers' milk, blood and semen), they can cause mutations by altering DNA, suppress immune system function and interfere with the natural controls of cell growth. Several studies also link chlorine and chlorinated by-products to a greater incidence of bladder, breast and bowel cancer as well as malignant melanoma. One study even links the use of chlorinated tap water to congenital cardiac anomalies.
If your family history shows that certain diseases have occurred repeatedly in the past, you must be diligent about getting regular screening examinations for these diseases. Check with your doctor for more information about evaluations or cancer screenings.
The best advice to lower cancer risk: Change bad habits and live healthfully. Quit smoking, exercise regularly, learn to manage stress, eat foods that help build your body's defenses against cancer. Remove chlorine or chloramine and other contaminants from water before drinking or cooking. Take vitamin and mineral supplements. And most importantly, see your physician for regular testing and health screenings.

What Will You Do When Your Cancer's Come Back?
It’s only been a few months since your cancer treatment and you’ve now been told your cancer has returned, but it’s in a different location. What has gone wrong and what are you going to do now?
Firstly, there are several problems with our orthodox cancer treatments. The main one being they have only treated the symptom of a problem, which is the cancer growth, not the cause of the problem which is the reason why the cancer first grew. This is why the cancer has just kept on growing, but now in some other part of the body. This is called secondary cancer and unfortunately it is far more serious than primary cancer. Our treatments nowadays only focus on the cancer growths and never address the underlying cause or the reason why the cancer first grew. Most doctors, when asked, will say they don’t know the reason why a person gets cancer so they can’t offer any advice on why it first grew or even why it came back. With our orthodox treatment of cancer you will most likely be offered more treatment, similar to the first but this time in a stronger dose.
With time running out you begin to look at other ways to solve your problem and consider trying natural treatments that will be effective for your type of cancer.
What you need, to rid cancer permanently is the 7 necessities of life and they are; fresh air, sunshine, clean water, exercise, rest, clean raw fruit and vegetables for food, and hopefully a happy heart. What you don’t need is more of the treatments you’ve just had which only shrunk some of the cancer, suppressed your immune system and didn’t cure you.
Here are a few common sense examples that have revealed some obvious facts.
Firstly and most importantly, our natural food for human beings is freshly grown fruit and vegetables, which contain well known anti-cancer properties called photo nutrients. You don’t need to spend millions of dollars on research to prove that.
Secondly, there is refined sugar, in which research over 70 years ago discovered is the natural fuel for cancer cells. Our diets today are laden with sugar and if you haven’t removed it from your diet since being diagnosed with cancer, then it’s no surprise your cancer has returned.
Thirdly, there are toxic chemicals which we use every day, they are mainly extracted from crude oil and have unfortunately become a big part of our daily life. We are affected by them in many ways; we breathe them in as exhaust gases, apply them to our skin as personal care products and ingest them as food additives. Do you understand the ingredients on a many of our food labels? The latest information says there are over 70,000 different synthetic chemicals and when some of these are applied to our skin it is the perfect delivery system into our blood stream. Many of these cheap chemicals do cause us harm.
And lastly, let’s not forget exercise. Our bodies were built to be physically active, however our modern way of living with labour saving devices such as cars, tv’s and escalators, to name a few, make it easy to neglect this basic and fundamental need. Exercise stimulates the immune system, which is our built in defence mechanism that keeps us healthy, this is why it’s important.
Remember it is the body that heals illness and this is through the immune system. Chemotherapy and radiation will not heal you; they only destroy cells, bad ones and good ones as well as the all important immune system.
Don’t expect this information to be endorsed by our mainstream medicine; their only way of treating cancer is with expensive drugs and radiation.
The most efficient healer the body has is a correctly functioning natural immune system.

Managing Stomach Cancer
Cancer become any age group person may cancer, but nearly all types are more common in middle aged and elderly people than in young people. Skin is the most common type of cancer for both men and women. The next most common type among men is prostate cancer; among women, it is breast cancer. Lung cancer, however, is the leading cause of death from cancer for both men and women . Brain cancer and leukemia are the most common cancers in children and young adults.
The more we can learn about what causes cancer, the more likely we are to find ways to prevent it. Scientists study patterns of cancer in the population to look for factors that affect the risk of developing this disease. In the laboratory, they explore possible causes of cancer and try to determine what actually happens when normal cells become cancerous.
Our current understanding of the causes of cancer is incomplete, but it is clear that cancer is not caused by an injury, such as a bump or bruise. And although being infected with certain viruses may increase the risk of some types of cancer, cancer is not contagious no one can "catch" cancer from another person.
Cancer develops gradually as a result of a complex mix of factors related to environment, lifestyle, and heredity. Scientists have identified many risk factors that increase the chance of getting cancer. They estimate that about 80 percent of all cancers are related to the use of tobacco products, to what we eat and drink, or, to a lesser extent, to exposure to radiation or cancer-causing agents (carcinogens) in the environment and the workplace. Some people are more sensitive than others to factors that can cause cancer.
Many risk factors can be avoided. Others, such as inherited risk factors, are, unavoidable. It is helpful to be aware of them, but it Is also important to keep in mind that not everyone with a particular risk factor for cancer actually gets the disease; in fact, most do not. People at risk can help protect themselves by avoiding risk factors where possible and by getting regular checkups so that, if cancer develops, it is likely to be found early.
These are some of the factors that are known to increase the risk of cancer.
Tobacco - Tobacco causes cancer. In fact, smoking tobacco, using “smokeless” tobacco, and being regularly exposed to environmental tobacco smoke without smoking are responsible for one-third of all cancer deaths. Smoking accounts for more than 85 percent of all lung cancer deaths. If you smoke, your risk of getting lung cancer is affected by the number and type of cigarettes you smoke and how long you have been smoking. Overall, for those who smoke one pack a day, the chance of setting lung cancer is about 10 times greater than for nonsmokers.
Smokers are also more likely than nonsmokers to develop several other types of cancer (such as oral cancer and cancers of the larynx, esophagus, pancreas, bladder, kidney, and cervix). The risk of cancer begins to decrease when a smoker quits, and the risk continues to decline gradually each year after quitting.
The use of smokeless tobacco (chewing, tobacco and snuff) causes cancer of the mouth and throat. Pre-cancerous conditions, or tissue changes that may lead to cancer, begin to go away after a person stops using smokeless tobacco.
Exposure to environmental tobacco smokes, also called involuntary smoking, increases the risk of lung cancer for nonsmokers. The risk goes up 30 percent or more for a nonsmoking spouse of a person who smokes. Involuntary smoking causes about 4,000 lung cancer deaths in this country each year.
If you use tobacco in any form and you need help quitting, talk with your doctor or dentist, or join a smoking cessation group sponsored by a local hospital or voluntary organization.
Diet : Your choice of foods may affect your chance of developing cancer. Evidence points to a link between a high-fat diet and certain cancers, such as cancer of the breast, colon, uterus, and prostate. Being seriously overweight appears to be linked to increased rates of cancer of the prostate, pancreas, uterus, Colon, and ovary, and to breast cancer in older women. On the other hand, studies suggest that foods containing fiber and certain nutrients help protect us against some types of cancer. You may be able to reduce your cancer risk by making some simple food choices. Try to have a varied, well-balanced diet that includes generous amounts of foods that are high in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. At the same time, try to cut down on fatty foods. You should eat five servings of fruits and vegetables each day, choose more whole-grain breads and cereals, and cut down on eggs, high-fat meat, high-fat dairy products (such as whole milk, butter, and most cheeses), salad dressings, margarine, and cooking oils.
Sunlight : Ultraviolet radiation from the sun and from other sources (such as sunlamps and tanning booths) damages the skin and can cause skin cancer. (Two types of ultraviolet radiation--UVA and UVB--are explained in the Medical Terms section.) Repeated exposure to ultraviolet radiation increases the risk of skin cancer, especially if you have fair skin or freckle easily. The sun is ultraviolet rays are strongest during the summer from about 11 a.m. to about 3 p.m. (daylight saving time). The risk is greatest at this time, when the sun is high overhead and shadows are short. As a rule, it is best to avoid the sun when your shadow is shorter than you are.
Protective clothing, such as a hat and, long sleeves, can help block the sun's harmful rays. You can also use sunscreens to help protect yourself. Sunscreens are rated in strength according to their SPF (sun protection factor), which ranges from 2 to 30 and higher. Those rated 15 to 30 block most of the sun's harmful rays.
Alcohol. Drinking, large amount of alcohol increases the risk of cancer of the mouth, throat, esophagus, and larynx. (People who smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol have an especially high risk of getting these cancers.) Alcohol can damage the liver and increase the risk of liver cancer. Some studies suggest that drinking alcohol also increases the risk of breast cancer. So if you drink at all, do so in moderation-not more than one or two drinks a day.
Radiation : X-rays used for diagnosis expose you to very little radiation and the benefits nearly always outweigh the risks. However, repeated exposure can be harmful, so it is a good idea to talk with your doctor or dentist about the need for each x-ray and ask about the use of shields to protect other parts of your body. Before 1950, X-rays were used to treat non-cancerous conditions (such as an enlarged thymus, enlarged tonsils and adenoids, ringworm of the scalp, and acne) in children and young adults. People who have received radiation to the head and neck have a higher-than-average risk of developing thyroid cancer years later. People with a history of such treatments should report it to their doctor and should have a careful exam of the neck every 1 or 2 years.
Also, radiation used in the treatment of some types of cancer can increase the risk of developing a second cancer. Patients having radiation therapy may want to discuss this issue with their doctor.
Chemicals and other substances in the workplace being exposed to substances such as metals, dust chemicals, or pesticides at work can increase the risk of cancer. Asbestos, nickel, cadmium, uranium, radon, vinyl chloride, benzidene, and benzene are well-known examples of carcinogens in the workplace. These may act alone or along with another carcinogen, such as cigarette smoke. For example, inhaling asbestos fibers increases the risk of lung diseases, including cancer, and the cancer risk is especially high for asbestos workers who smoke. It is important to follow work and safety rules to avoid contact with dangerous materials.
Hormone replacement therapy: Many women use estrogen therapy to control the hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and osteoporosis (thinning of the bones) that may occur during menopause. However, studies show that estrogen use increases the risk of cancer of the uterus. Other studies suggest an increased risk of breast cancer among women who have used high doses of estrogen or have used estrogen for a long time. At the same time, taking estrogen may reduce the risk of heart disease and osteoporosis.
The risk of uterine cancer appears to be less when progesterone is used with estrogen than when estrogen is used alone. But some scientists are concerned that the addition of progesterone may also increase the CANCER risk of breast cancer.
HOMEOPATHY APPCHOCH IN STOMACH
Out of ten person, one person suffering fron gestrities and out of them hundred one person suffering from stoch cancer. If the cancer can be identified at a time when it only involves the superficial lining layer of the stomach and only involves a few cells and such a stomach cancer is surgically removed 90 % of these individuals are likely to have a normal life span . However if the stomach cancer has involved all the layers of the stomach this chance decreases to 50% and if it has spread outside the stomach or to distant organs of the body the chances of surviving in the long term are extremely gloomy .
CAUSE FOR STOMACH CANCER
1. Benign stomach (gastric ) ulcer , in most instances these benign ulcers in the stomach do not become malignant although in a few cancerous change can supervene after many years . Helicobacter pylori infection of the stomach appears to be an important cause of gastric ulcers .
2. Chronic duodenal ulcer , this is a common condition of the duodenum , the organ situated next to the stomach . we can reassure those with this condition that even after many years of having a chronic duodenal ulcer , the chances of it becoming malignant are almost nil.
3. Gastritis with low or absent stomach acid production . This situation can occur in an uncommon illness. Pernicious anemia and it can also occur without any obvious reason . Here absent or low levels of stomach acid which is normally produced to aid digestion is associated with the disappearance of gastric glands and this is called atrophic gastritis . Atrophic gastritis is a pre malignant condition .
GENATIC DISPOSITION OF STOMACH CANCER
Inherited causes :family history of stomach cancer ,such a history in a near relative doubles a person’s chances of developing stomach cancer during their life time
Type A blood group ,the common blood groups are A,B,O ,and AB. A person with type A blood has a 20% increased chance of developing stomach cancer during their life time compared to those with other blood groups
Personal health risks: presence of Helicobacter pylori in the stomach .this is an organism which in recent has been associated not only with stomach cancer but also with gastric and duodenal ulcers and with inflammatory changes called gastritis . why Helicobacter infection is present in some individuals but not in others is at present in some individuals but not in others is at present is uncertain , although it may be linked to both undesirable Helicobacter infection probably cause no symptoms . Helicobacter Pylori infection can usually be eradicated by the use of suitable antibiotics . It has also been suggested recently by Australian scientists that the regular intake of acidophilus bacteria (found in some brands of yoghurt and in some bacteria supplements )can also eradicate Helicobacter infection. Previous surgical removal of part of the stomach (partial gastrectomy ) for a non malignant condition , such as a gastric or duodenal ulcer . This become a stomach cancer risk some 15-40 years after the stomach has been removed . Pernicious anemia ,Individuals with this uncommon condition not only have anemia but also have no normal stomach acid production . They develop the condition previously described , atrophic gastritis . Individuals with atrophic gastritis have a 10 %chance of developing stomach cancer during their life time . Low or absent stomach acid production with atrophic gastritis , even in the absence of pernicious anemia , this is a risk for the future development of stomach cancer
Life style health risks : Dietary factors, a special risk for stomach cancer is a diet which is low in vegetables , fruit and cereals and particularly those fruits , vegetables and cereals which contain a lot of beta-carotene , vitamin-c and vitamin-e
A diet high in pickled . smoked , salted or cured food or foods preserved with nitrate , such as salami ,sausages , hot dogs , smoked meat , smoked fish or pickled food of any kind are also risks for stomach cancer . These dietary factors are probably important because the risk foods described above all seem to produce carcinogenscalled nitrosamines . Also vitamin-C acts as antioxidant and has other actions which neutralize the effects of nitrosamines . Dietary factors are probably the most important single cause of stomach cancer . Smoking , a recent Australian study which examined all the scientific evidence published over the years has found that smoking is likely to be an important contributory cause of stomach cancer .
PRIMARY PREVENTION CANCER :
1.Dietary changes it is particularly important to have a high consumption of fruit ,vegetables and cereals which contain beta-carotene ,vitamin-c and vitamin-e and at the same time avoid or eat very little pickled ,smoked ,salted ,cured and nitrate –preserved foods .In a recently reported study from China ,where stomach cancer is still relatively common ,the daily use of vitamin-e ,beta carotene and selenium supplements decreased stomach cancer risk by one-fifth .
2. Avoid smoking ,hints and guidance about quitting smoking are described
3. Eradicate Helicobacter Pylori , if helicobacter infection has been shown to be present ,suitable antibiotics can be used recent research suggests that the acidophilus bacteria found in some dietary supplements may also been effective way to eliminate helicobacter infection
4. Aspirin based mainly on experimental data ,the regular use of aspirin as a preventive for stomach cancer has been advanced . However the human evidence of a preventive role for aspirin in stomach cancer is insufficient at present to make such a recommendation .
ROLE FOR HOMEOPATHY TREATMENT
In alternative medicine in homoeopathy medicine can cure cancer in various age group of person. In early stage of cancer may help to patient life Many people with cancer want to learn all they can about their disease and their treatment choices so they can take an active part in decisions about their medical care. Often, it helps to make a list of questions to ask the doctor. Patients may take notes or, with the doctor's consent, tape record the discussion. Some patients also find it helps to have a family member or friend with them when they talk with the doctor to take part in the discussion, to take notes, or just to listen.
• Here are some questions may want to ask the doctor: What are the chances that the treatment will be successful?• Would a clinical trial be appropriate for me?• What are the risks and possible side effects of each treatment?
Although the side effects of radiation therapy can be unpleasant, the doctor can usually treat or control them. It also helps to know that, in most cases, they are not permanent.number of white blood cells, cells that help protect the body against infectionChemotherapy —the side effects of chemotherapy depends mainly on the drugs and doses the patient receives. Generally, anticancer drugs affect cells that divide rapidly. These include blood cells, which fight infection, help the blood to clot, or carry oxygen to all parts of the body. When blood cells are affected by anticancer drugs, patients are more likely to get infections, may bruise or bleed easily, and may have less energy. Cells that line the digestive tract also divide rapidly. As a result of chemotherapy, patients may have side effects, such as loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, hair loss, or mouth sores. For some patients, the doctor may prescribe medicine to help with side effects, especially with nausea and vomiting. Usually, these side effects gradually go away during the recovery period or after treatment stops. Hair loss another side effect of chemotherapy, is a major concern for many patients. Some chemotherapy drugs only cause the hair to thin out, while others may result in the loss of all body hair. Patients may feel better if they decide how to handle hair loss before starting treatment.
In some men and women, chemotherapy drugs cause changes that may result in a loss of fertility (the ability to have children). Loss of fertility may be temporary or permanent depending on the drugs used and the patient's age. For men, sperm banking before treatment may be a choice. Women's menstrual periods may stop, and they may have hot flashes and vaginal dryness. Periods are more likely to return in young women. In some cases, bone marrow transplantation and peripheral stem cell support are used to replace tissue that forms blood cells when that tissue has been destroyed by the effects of chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
Hormone Therapy --Hormone therapy can cause a number of side effects. Patients may have nausea and vomiting, swelling or weight gain, and, in some cases, hot flashes. In women, hormone therapy also may cause interrupted menstrual periods, vaginal dryness, and, sometimes, loss of fertility. Hormone therapy in men may cause impotence, loss of sexual desire, or loss of fertility. These changes may be temporary, long lasting, or permanent.

First Skin Cancer Sign
Skin cancer often appears on the parts of body, which are never exposed to sun. Less than 10,000 people die from skin cancer in US each year. To place this in proper perspective, people in United States are 10 times more likely to be killed in a hospital due to a medical error or twice as likely to be shot to death by a gun. People are now spending billions on the so-called sun-blockers, trying to save themselves from something, which does not threaten them at all: out of 300 sun-baders, 299 never get skin cancer.
There are several different kinds of skin cancer. The one that forms in the cells that make pigment is called melanoma. Skin cancer that forms in the small, round cells in the base of the outer layer of skin is called basal cell carcinoma. The type that forms in the flat cells that form the surface of the skin is called squamous cell carcinoma. Skin cancer that forms in the cells that release hormones in response to signals from the nervous system is called neuroendocrine carcinoma of the skin.
As a cancer patient, it is important that you alert your physician at the first signs of infection and to receive antibiotic therapy. What To Do Right Now To Stop Age Spots Because age spots, poikiloderma and actinic keratoses can serve as warning signs for skin cancer, the American Academy of Dermatology recommends scheduling a professional skin examination each year. When lung cancer spreads to other parts of the body, organs and bones, referred to as "metastasizing".
Skin cancer is a form of cancer that manifests itself in different ways and signs. The most common of skin cancer signs is a change in the skin like growths or sores that don't heal. If you find lumps that are smooth, shiny or waxy looking, or is red or reddish brown in color, it is better to visit the doctor to find out if you are suffering from skin cancer as early as possible.
The signs of skin cancer can be described by a popular alphabetical mnemonic, or memory trick. Commonly known as the ABCs of skin cancer, each letter indicates a certain characteristic of those skin sores, or lesions, which may be cancerous. For example, "A" refers to asymmetry, because cancerous skin lesions are often irregularly shaped.
The second sign of a cancerous lesion, designated as "B," is a reminder that skin cancers, unlike normal moles or other skin tumors, often lack clearly defined borders. "C" stands for color, because cancer sores are often red, blue, white, or black in appearance, and look very different from benign skin growths. There are five primary characteristics of skin cancer. These signs can be easily memorized; they correspond with the first five letters of the alphabet. They are often referred to as the ABCs, or ABCDEs, of skin cancer.
The first sign is designated 'A' for asymmetry. Most malignant skin growths have an irregular shape. The second sign, 'B', reminds readers that cancerous tumors often do not have regular, easily distinguishable borders. Color is denoted by 'C', reminding people that cancerous growths are frequently multicolored in appearance, and may be black, white, brown, red, or blue.

Breat Cancer Treatment
When a group of cells display uninhibited growth, which refers to division beyond the normal limits, this phenomenon is commonly referred to as cancer. Other characteristics include an attack and destruction of surrounding tissues, and the spread to other locations in the body via lymph or blood, which is known as metastasis.
These malignant, which refers to a severe and progressively worsening disease, properties of cancers differentiate them from benign tumors, which are self-limited and do not invade or metastasise.
A tumor refers to a swelling or lesion formed by an unusually high growth of cells and occurs with most cancers. However, some, like leukemia, do not produce tumors.
Breast cancer becomes established, initially, in the cells of the breast in men and women. On a worldwide basis, the second most established form of cancer, after lung cancer, is that of breast cancer. It represents 10% of all cancers relating to both sexes. It is the fifth most common cause of cancer death.
The most common type of cancer specifically related to women, globally, is that of breast cancer. It occurs at more than twice the rate of that of colorectal cancer and cervical cancer and about three times that of lung cancer. Further, in the case of women, deaths from breast cancer, worldwide, is approximately 25% more than that from lung cancer.
In a study in 2005, it was found that breast cancer produced 502,000 deaths worldwide. To get this into context, this represents about 7% of all cancer deaths, and nearly 1% of all recorded deaths. Further, there has been a substantial increase, globally, in breast cancer since the 1970s. This statistic, it is suggested, may be associated with modern lifestyles in the western world.
On a global basis, the occurrence of breast cancer differs significantly according to region. It is less widespread in less-developed countries and more so in the further-developed countries. In the twelve designated regions of the world, the annual incidence rates per 100,000 women are as follows: Eastern Asia, 18; Southern Central Asia, 22; sub-Saharan Africa, 22; South-Eastern Asia, 26; North Africa and Western Asia, 28; South and Central America, 42; Eastern Europe, 49; Southern Europe, 56; Northern Europe, 73; Oceania, 74; Western Europe, 78; and in North America, 90.
The United States has the highest incidence rates of breast cancer in women, globally. A study has shown 141 cases among white women and 122 among African American women. Also in the US, breast cancer amongst women is the most prevalent cancer. After lung cancer, it produces the second highest occurrence of deaths from all cancers.
There is a 12.5% chance of women in the US developing invasive breast cancer within their lifetime. Further, there is a 3% chance that the breast cancer that they may contract will actually cause their death. A forecast has suggested that, in 2007, breast cancer would be the cause of 40,910 deaths in the US. This would represent some 7% of cancer deaths, and almost 2% of all deaths.
For the last few years, both the incidence and death rates from breast cancer in the US have been in decline. In 2005, a study conducted in the US by the Society for Women’s Health Research concluded that breast cancer remains the disease that causes the most concern. This is an interesting outcome since heart disease is a much more widespread determinant when considering all deaths among women.
Breast cancer is also prevalent in men. This is due to the fact that the breast is composed of identical tissues in respect of both genders. However, it must be remembered that the manifestation of breast cancer in men is some 100 times less common than that in women. Conversely, men with breast cancer are considered to have the same statistical survival rates as women.
